Name: James L. Martin Date: April 24, 1934 - April 10, 2012 Obituary: James L. Martin, 78, of Plattsburgh, and formerly of Madrid, passed away on April 10, 2012 in Plattsburg. James was employed as a truck driver working for George Morre Truck Equipment he worked on the St. Lawrence Seaway when it was being built and also worked on the Northway. He was born on April 24, 1934 in Madrid, NY the son of Lawrence Alice Martin, he attended local schools and served in the U S military. James is survived by his children, Dale and wife Rhonda Martin of Plattsburg, Lisa Martin of Orlando, FL; Randy Martin of Keeseville, NY; and Chris Griffin on McGregor, TX. Seven grandchildren, Nicole Steady, Shane Martin, Alex Martin, Andrew Martin, Brittany Wedgewood, Kane Griffin, Shannon Stout and six great grandchildren, Bella Wedgewood, Justin, Brady, Dylan, Ryan Steady, Dyana Martin. He was predeceased by two children, Cary Martin and Donna Griffin. James married Patricia Wright, she predeceased him in 2000. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and visiting with friends and family. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2012 from 1:30 -3:00 pm at Phillips Memorial Home in Madrid, 20 Church St. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm at the funeral home, Rev.
