Donald J. Tyo 88, of 1268 State Highway 131, Massena passed away February 16, 2010 at Harpers Hospice House surrounded by family and hospice in Stuart, Fl. Donald is survived by his wife Lorraine, a daughter Ann and husband Gary Holmes,of Bloomington, IN., two sons, Donald and wife Anita of Massena, and Wayne and wife Patricia Tyo of Louisville, grandchildren: Trevor and wife Linda Tyo, Stacey Tyo and (Maralyn, Brian and wife Creedence Tyo, Tiffany and husband Mike Willen, Bradley and wife Terri Holmes, Jeffrey and wife Carrie Tyo, Leslie and husband Allen Chilton, Mark and wife Stacy Tyo, great grandchildren Tyla Holmes, Ben Chilton, Ben Holmes, Hannah Chilton, Cleo Tyo, Emma Tyo, Finn Tyo. Four brothers, Robert Tyo , Paul and wife Betty, Gerald and wife Kate, Bernard and wife Catherine all of Louisville, a sister Catherine and husband Robert LeBoeuf of Massena, sister in laws; Rowena Tyo of Tn, Mertis Perras, Gloria Robillard and Louise Morin all of Massena, many neices and nephews. Mr Tyo was predeceased by brothers: Keith, Kenneth and sister Ann Tyo. Born in Louisville April 30, 1921 the son of John and Lillian ( Sutton) Tyo. Married Lorriane Perras August 29, 1942 at the Church of the Sacred Heart. He served in the US Navy during WW II from 1944 to1946. Following his retirement after 42 years from Alcoa as a Roller in the 140 Mill, he and his wife traveled to Yuma Az for the winter months. For the past 18 years they spent in Stuart, Fl. He enjoyed RVing and boating. Calling hours and funeral services to be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Massena Rescue Squad. Arrangements are entrusted under the care and direction of the Phillips Memorial Home, Massena.
