Memorial services for Joseph B Duranceau, 81, of Grassmere Ave.  Massena, NY will be held Friday at 1:00 PM at the St. John's Episcopal Church in Massena, with Deacon Richard Littlejohn presiding. 

Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Parishville.

There will be no public calling hours.

Joseph went to be with his Lord on Sunday (October  5, 2008), at St. Regis Nursing Home.

He is survived by two daughters, Trudy Dalton of Richville, N.Y., Barbara Duranceau of Massena, N.Y. A sister,Martha Abriel of Albany.Three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren. A special friend Leona McCarthy.

Born April 24, 1927 in Massena, NY, the son of Candide and Marie (Deroucher) Duranceau.

He married Beatrice Sheff on December 11, 1948 at the First Baptist Church by the Rev. Raymond McCann officiating.

Mrs. Duranceau predeceased him on June 29, 1989.

He was employed at Alcoa as a Heat Treater, retiring on August 1, 1973.

He served in the US Navy during World War II. 

He was  a member of the 25 Year Club at Alcoa, past member of AMVETS Post # 4, American Legion Post #79.

Funeral services for Ellen Brodsky, 57, of 9 Depot St Madrid, NY will be held Wednesday 10:00  am ( October 8, 2008 ) at the Phillips Memorial Home, Madrid with Rabbi Kenneth White afficating.

Interment will be in Adath Israel Cemetery, Massena.

She has no known survivors.

Ellen Brodsky died Monday morning (October  6, 2008), at Canton-Potsdam Hospital in Potsdam, NY.

Ellen Brodsky was born January 22, 1951 in New York City, NY.

The daughter of  Irving and  Sigrid ( Peterson) Brodsky.

Ellen was a resident of the IRA ( Independent Reabilation Agency) facility in Madrid since 1985.

She was known for her gentle smile and her appreciation of being around people.

She enjoyed music, eating out in restaurants and being outdoors .

Funeral services for Fernande A. Lussier,  age 88, Formerly of  38 Sherwood Drive Massena, NY and currently residing at the St. Regis Nursing Home,  will be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at 2:00 PM at the Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Donald Manfred officiating. 

Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery, Massena.  

Friends are invited to call at the  Phillips Memorial Home, 64 Andrews St., Massena, NY on Wednesday, October 8, 2008  from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM. 

Fernande went to be with her Lord on Monday, October 6, 2008 at St. Regis Nursing Home in Massena, NY. 

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law,  Ann and Greg Sharp of Massena, N.Y.   Son and daughter-in-law, John and Sheila Lussier of Lockport,N.Y. A sister, Edmee St. Amand of Massena, NY Grandchildren, Scott (Kristine) Sharp; Matthew Sharp; Austin Sharp; Marc Lussier, and Julie (Scott) Leeds.  Great-grandchildren, Sydney and Logan Leeds.

Fernande was born  on January  1, 1920 in Alymer, Quebec,  the daughter of E. Joseph and Loretta(Gibeault) Beaudry.

She attended St. Mary's School and graduated from Massena High School in 1938.

She married Emile E. Lussier on April 10, 1939 at St. Mary's Church with the  Rev. J. O'Brien presiding.

Mr. Lussier predeceased her on March 28, 1996.

She was a home maker.

She was a charter member of Ladies Auxiliary St. Lawrence Council #1141, a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Elks and the K of C. 

In her free time, Fernande enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and especially all of her friends at the St. Regis Nursing Home, The Family of Fernande would also like to Thank the Staff of the St. Regis Nursing Home for their Support and Loving Care that they provided for the last eight years.  Donations may be directed to the St. Regis Nursing Home Activities Fund.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Frary Funeral Home in Ogdensburg.

Constance went to be with her Lord Saturday at the Canton-Potsdam Hospital in Potsdam, NY, from complications of Diabetes.

She is survived by a brother, Bruce Walker of Ogdensburg, N.Y., a Aunt,  Valera Bickelhaupt of Hammond, her loving care giver for over 20 years, Marilyn Ayotte of Louisville,NY, numerous cousins.

Born January  5, 1966 in Ogdensburg, NY, the daughter of Alfred and  Barbara (MacDougall) Walker.

She graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy.

She worked for ARC in Massena and Ogdensburg.

Mrs. Walker attended the retired day hab in Massena.

She enjoyed  country music, loved to dance and color. 

She was an avid music fan.

Michael went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at the Massena Memorial Hospital.

He is survived by his Sister, Jean  Smith of San Bernadino, Calif.  Several Aunts, Uncles and cousins.

Michael was born on April  7, 1955 in Massena, NY, the son of  Leon and Ruth (Fitzgerald) Smith.

He graduated from Massena High School in 1973.  

Michael was a member of the Louisville Fire Department. 

In his Free time, Michael enjoyed all of what mother Nature had to offer, especially Fishing, snowmobiling, Four-wheeling and racing.

Donations may be directed to the Louisville Fire Department or the Louisville First Response Team in Michael's memory.

Michael went to be with his Lord Monday (October 13, 2008), at Strong Memorial Hospital ,Rochester, NY where he was a patient for the last three days. He was undergoing treatment for a liver transplant.

He is survived by his mother Patricia of Louisville, a brother and three sisters, James Martin"Jay" Pellegrino, Jr and wife Jody of Lake Whales, Fl., Lynn and husband Daniel Lieberman of Sykesville, Md.,  Joanne and husband Michael Baldwin of Austin, Texas, Andrea S. and Ben LaValley of Massena, N.Y. Several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Born born May 8, 1973 in Massena, NY, the son of  James and Patricia (Viskovich) Pellegrino.

He graduated from Massena Central High School and Canton ATC and attended Paul Smith's College.

He was employed at Amigo's as a cook. He had previously  been employed at Angelos' Restaurant for many years as a cook.

At the request of Michael's family he was an organ and tissue donor to aid in the well being of others awaiting tissue donation.

Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Catholic Endowment Fund.

A Mass of Christian Burial for James A. Blais, 57, of 502 Foxwood Drive Clifton Park, NY will be held Monday ( October  20, 20080 11:00 am at St Patrick's Church with Rev Patrick A. Ratigan presiding. Interment  will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Brasher Falls.

James went to be with his Lord Thursday at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, N.Y. after a 10 month battle with cancer.

James is  survived by his wife Sandra Blais; a daugther Mrs Jilles(Laura) Legault of Worcester, MA. two sons: Adam Blais and his fiance Jennifer Uitos, Michael Blais of Denver,Co, two step sons: Curt Richards of Mt. Pleasant, MI, Darin Richards and fiance Jessica Furnace of Louisville, NY three grandchildren,   a brother Thomas and wife Maryann Blais of Campbellsburg,IN.

Born October 28, 1950 in Massena, NY, the son of  Emile Blais and  Anna (Brennan) Blais.

A graduate of St. Lawrence Central and attended Canton ATC later attending  RIT in Rochester.

He served in the US Army during the Viet Nam era.

He graduated from SUNY at Potsdam.

A marriage to Kathleen ( Kitty ) Barry ended in divorce. Married Sandra Pike Richards April 12, 2008 in Clifton Pike.

He was employed at General Motors at one time later at Alcoa. For the past four years he was employed in Clifton Park for the Department of Labor until he became ill.

He enjoyed mountain climbing, hiking, golfing, downhill skiing, being at his hunting camp.

Private Funeral services for Mavis Moser, 74 of 48 Sherwood Dr. Massena will be held at the convienience of the family.

Calling hours will Tuesday from 2-4 and 7- 8 pm at the  Phillips Memorial Home, Massena.

Mrs. Moser went to be with her Lord Friday evening ( October 17, 2008 ) while a resident at the St Regis Nursing Home.

Survving Mavis Moser is her loving husband of 55 years Richard J. Sr., two sons and a daughter : Rick and wife  Luanne Moser of Massena, Alan Moser and companion Deon of Buffalo, Barbara and Jeffery Darling of Massena, a brother Peter Reid and a sister Barbara Reid of England, eight grandchildren: Heather & John Moser, Alan Jr and Kimberly Moser, Alicia, Michael, Mark and Alanna Darling.

Born September 17, 1934 in Hartlepool, England the daughter of the late Charles and Edna ( Husdell) Reid.

She came to America in 1953. Married Richard J. Moser April 11, 1953 in Luzerne. Pa.

She was a homemaker, a member of St. John's Episcopal Church.

She enjoyed  volunteering at St John's Episcopal Church Thrift Store, Head Start and at the Massena Memorial Library.

She enjoyed her grandchildren and many freinds.

She loved walking, hiking, biking, mountain climbing, playing tennis, knitting and gardening.

Mass of Christian Burial for Patrick " Big Bird" A. Kerr, 54 will be held Tuesday 10:00 am ( October 21, 2008 ) at the St. Lawrence Church in Louisville with Rev Donald J. Manfred presiding. Interment will in St Lawrence  Cemetery, Louisville.

Calling hours will be held Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Phillips Memorial Home, Massena.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

Mr. Kerr died early Saturday afternoon from a fatal fall from a tree stand near his home.

Surviving Patrick " Big Bird" A. Kerr is his wife Martha, his parents, Leonard and Marie Kerr of Louisville, two daughters; Jennifer C. Kerr of Richmond, Va, Mrs Brian ( Jaime) C. LaBarge of Massena, five brothers: Michael, Douglas , Christopher and wife Beverly, Scott and wife Marlene all of Louisville, Timothy and wife Pam of Lockport, NY, four sisters: Mrs Gregory ( Jayne) Hart , Mrs Lynn ( Lisa) Furnace both of Norfolk, Mrs Timothy ( Laurie ) Hollander, Mrs Todd ( Gayle) MacDonald both of Louisville, alsohis very close cousins with whom he was raised with Bruce and Mary Ellen Ladison of Louisville, many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles.

Born June 17, 1954 in Ogdensburg the son of Leonard and Marie ( Julies) Kerr, He graduated from Massena High School, served in the US Navy  from 1973 to 1977.

Married Martha Roach August 5, 1978 at St Mary's Cathredral by Rev. George Maroun.

Mr. Kerr first started work at the General Motors plant in Massena for nine years, later he was employed at Reynolds Metals before entering employment at St Lawrence Seaway as a pipe fitter.

Mr Kerr was a member  of the Knights of Columbus Council # 1141, Massena and Knights of Columbus Council of Louisville . He was a 4th Degree.

He served on the Louisville Planning Board, served on the St Lawrence Church Parish Council several times, coached girls softball team.

Enjoyed hunting, canoeing, down skiing and golfing, playing volleyball.

He was an avid reader and he loved his dogs.

Marion R. Bourdon went to be with her Lord Monday afternoon surrounded by the loving care of her family and hospice at her home. 

Surviving Marion R. Bourdon is her husband of 67 years Kenneth A., two daughters and two sons: Mrs Roger(Carol) Williams of North Syracuse, Mrs. Rene (Barbara) Hart of Massena, George M. and wife Donna Bourdon of Massena, James S. and wife Nancy of Oswego,  11 grandchildren, 13 grt grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a brother James.

Born  April 4, 1921in Massena the daughter of Benjamin and Mae (Carney) Ploof.

She married Kenneth A. Bourdon October 18, 1941 at the Church of the Sacred Heart with Rev . Mgsr. Timothy P. Holland presiding. 

Marion worked as a clerk at her son's store, The Cabinet and Bath Store, Massena, for a short time.

She served for many years on the Massena Memorial Hospital Auxiliary 1702. 

At  one time she volunteered for the Elk's Lodge Auxiliary.

Harold A. Petke age 69 of 162 Hall Rd., Massena, NY went to be with his Lord on Monday, October 20, 2008 at his home. 

Friends are invited to attend a graveside Service for Harold on Friday, October 24, 2008 at 10:00 AM in the Carville Cemetery, Helena, NY with Rev. Steve Pelden officiating.    

Mr. Petke is survived by his children, Deborah (Rick) James of Virginia Beach, VA; Linda Sharrow of Virginia Beach, VA; Sabrina (Mike) Hickey of Choctaw, OK; Harold(Robin) Petke of Massena, NY; Lene (Duane) Shepard of Norwood, NY; Valentina Petke of Winthrop, NY; Candy (Jacques) Breault of Massena, NY . 20 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren.  Harold was predeceased by his loving wife, Joyce (Munkelwitz) Petke; Daughter, Donna Lynn Petke  and brother, Augusta Petke. 

He was born in East Germany on May 12, 1939 to the late William and Matilda (Schmitt) Geiger. 

Harold became a U.S. Citizen in 1958 and married Matilda Schmitt on February 15, 1958 in Islip Terrace, Long Island. 

Harold worked as a farmer on his own farm and later went to work for Gillford White as a handyman. 

Mr. Petke was a member of the Seaway Model Airs.  He loved to build and fly Model Airplanes. 

Harold enjoyed  playing the keyboard and was a very good Pool Player.   

Harold enjoyed fishing and flying his Ultra-Lite Plane.

Harold was always active, especially on the farm or doing Carpentry.

He is survived by his wife Robin (Edwards) Shields, of Chase Mills, NY, Daughter, Jaimie Shields, of Palmer, MA, brothers Michael Shields ofRochester, NY, Steven and wife Myra Shields of Lexington, KY, Robert and wife Jennifer Shields of Feeding Hills, MA. A step brother, Jason Babbie of New York, N.Y. His mother Maxine and Donald Babbie of Wilbraham, MA, A granddaughter, Mya Walker, of Palmer, MA. Father Harold Patnode Sr. and wife Donna of Lady Lake, Fl. His adopted father Robert Shields, step-mother Noreen Shields of Leesburg, Fl. Step children Joseph and wife Heather Velozo of Turner, Maine. Four step grandchildren, Brandon Bouchard ofLeeds, Mains, Riley Velozo, Sadie and Jace Velozo all of Turner, Maine.

He was predeceased by a daughter Jennifer Shields. 

Born  December 23, 1960 in Denver, CO,.

He graduated from High School in Burnt Hills, NY.

He  worked for Caron Auto Body as a auto body repairman in Lewistion, Maine.

He enjoyed fishing, boating, classic tinkerman, camping, traveling, target shooting, archery, paintball, snowmobiling, 4 wheeling, grass drags races.

He is survived by his wife Beverly J. (Derouchie)of 59 years. A daughter, and son and daughter in-law, Mrs. Frances Bissonette of Brasher Falls, N.Y. Arthur E. and wife Phyllis Wilson of Brasher Falls. Threegrandchildren, Steven and Julie Wilson of Helena, Patricia and Thomas Durant of Brasher Falls, and Arthur K. and Jill Wilson of Massena. Six great-grandchildren, Ashley, Steven Jr., Camden, Gabrielle, Dakota, andCheyenne. Five sisters, Marylou White and her husband Vernon of Brasher Falls, N.Y., Harriett McGregor and her husband Glenford of Massena, N.Y., Hazel Durant of North Lawrence, N.Y. Eilleen Elliott of Moira, N.Y.Annette Pentergast of Syracuse, N.Y. Four brothers,Ronald Wilson of Bradford, Ind.,Mike Wilson and his wife Mary of Hogansburg, N.Y.,Philip Wilson of Massena, N.Y.,Therdore Wilson and his wife Carol of Moira, N.Y.He was predeceased by three brothers, Kenny, Paul and Walter Wilson. Four sisters, Grace "Cookie" Wilson, Shirley Martin, Joanne and Orilla Lavars, and a son in-law Donald Bissonette.

Born  June  1, 1928 in Massena, NY, the son of Arthur and Pearl (Wilson) Wilson.

He married Beverly J. Derouchie on August 13, 1949.

Frances worked at Alcoa for 44 years most of that time was in the remelt.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, gardening, spending time with his grandchidlren.

He was also the manager of the Baseball team in Helena during the early 1960's.

Bronic J. Zagrobelny went to be with his Lord on Saturday, October 25, 2008 at the Massena Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Jean (Snelgrove) Zagrobelny.  Children, Jan and Debra Zagrobelany of Massena, NY; Bronic Zagrobelny, Jr., of Orlando, FL; Jill and Louis McKay of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; Joan Zagrbelny of New Town, Ct., Jere Zagrobelny of Massena, NY.  Six grandchildren, one great-grandaughter and several nieces and nephews.  Bronic isalso survived by his brothers, August Zagrobelny of Terrytown, NY and Frank Zagrobelny of East Aurora, NY.  Sister, Stella Fairbridge of Massena, NY; Helen Badlam of Waddington, NY and Josephine Logan of Poccatellar, Idaho.  

Mr. Zagrobelny was predeceased by his brothers, Ted and Joseph Zagrobelny. 

Bronic was born on September 20, 1917 in Massena, NY to the late August and Mary (Fil) Zagrobelny.  He graduated from the Norfolk School and Attended Ithaca College. 

Bronic married Jean Snelgroveon August 20, 1940 in the Sacred Heart Church, Massena, NY. 

He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. 

Mr. Zagrobelny worked as an Insurance Salesman with Nationwide Insurance. 

He was a member of the Sacred Heart Church, American Legion Post 79, Amvets Post 4, and the Moose Club. 

During his high School Career, Bronic was a well known Star for the Norfolk Baketball Team and after graduation, Mr. Zagrobelny continued to play in several competitive leagues throughout the NorthCountry.

 He enjoyed Bowling, Golfing, Basketball, gardening, but most importantly the time he shared with his family and grandchildren.
