"Gerry" S. Perkins Sr., 65, of 79 Parker Ave. Massena, NY
will be held Thursday at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph's Church in
Massena, with Rev. J. Michael Gaffney presiding. Burial
will be in Calvary Cemetery in Massena. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Phillips Memorial Home in Massena. Gerry went to be with his Lord Sunday at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington, VT. He is survived by his wife Doris, three sons and two daughters, Gerald "Gerry" and wife Sue Perkins of Massena, N.Y., Ray and wife Margaret Perkins of Massena, N.Y., Brandon Bolster and companion Maisie of Massena, N.Y., Raonna and husband Bob Ferrera of Massena, N.Y., Bobbi Jo Perkins and companion Tom Eckstein of Massena N.Y. Five step children, Randy and Connie Arquitt of NC, Frank and Lila Arquitt of Evans Mills, NY, Kevin Arquitt of Charleston, SC, Mike and Janet Arquitt of Norfolk, Brenda and Brian Burke of Madrid. A sister, and brother, Joanne Favreau and husband Newman of Massena, N.Y. Ralph and wife Cathy Perkins of Massena, N.Y. 25 grandchildren16 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son Aaron in infancy. Born February 18, 1943 in Massena, NY, the son of Sherwood and Frances (Bell) Perkins. He attended local schools. He married Barbara Bush, the marriage ended in divorce. He later married Beverly Bolster the marriage ended in divorce. He later married Doris Smith Arquitt on February 20, 1988 at St. John's Episcopal Church with the Rev. William Hirricks. He was employed at Norfolk Paper Mill, later Danko Construction, mechanic at Massena Lincoln Mercury, custodian at Vale Haven, and later as a Nurse's Aide at the Highland Nursing Home. He enjoyed fishing on the St. Lawrence.

Lawrence "Red" B. Lyons, 95, formerly of 14467 State
Highway 37 Massena, NY will be held on Wednesday,
November 5, 2008 in Louisville Community Cemetery in
Louisville at 10:00 AM. Rev. Jack Downs will be
officiating the services.
There will be no calling hours. Red went to be with his Lord on Monday, November 3, 2008 at the United Helpers Cedars Nursing Home in Oswegatchie, NY, where he had resided since July 2006. He is survived by his niece Wilma Taylor of Massena, his nephew Sam Bradford of Phoenix, AZ, close friends, Jim Crinklaw of Massena and John Brainard of Massena. Born May 7, 1913 in Colton, NY, the son of Wilber and Nellie (Miller) Lyons. He married Louise Bradford on September 28, 1949 at Louisville Church by the Rev. George Stephenson. Mrs. Lyons predeceased him in 1986. Red's father died during the flu epidemic of 1918 at age 22, when Red was five years old. His mother, worked as a housekeeper where she kept house and raised her son in the Brasher Falls area. Red attended the White School. He left high school and worked for various job, as a farmer, St. Lawrence County Highway Department when the road between Withrop and Fort Jackson was being built. He also worked as a waiter. He started work at Alcoa in January 1937 and retired in 1970. In his free time, Red enjoyed traveling, fishing, and especially reading which he would do to allow him to keep up on the current events. Mr. Lyons achieved this by reading all three local papers and numerous magazines daily.

Sacred Heart in Massena with the Rev. Manfred presiding. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in East
Herkimer.
There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to Massena Rescue Squad, Massena Meals on Wheels, or the Edmundite Fathers, Broad St. Selma, Alabama 36701. Daniel went to be with his Lord Thursday at his home under the loving care of his family and hospice. He is survived by his wife Gloria McCormick; three sons, and four daughters, Daniel C. McCormick of Gates, N.Y., Michael J. McCormick of Massena, Christopher G. and wife Iris McCormick of Churchville, N.Y., Martha Ann McCormick and husband Ralph Drake of Owls Head, N.Y., Constance Mussaw and husband Donald J. of Gorham N.Y., Prudence Banker and husband James of East Williamson N.Y.,Sarah and husband Robert Cannon of Rochester, N.Y. Thirteen grandchildren, Fivegreat-grandchildren. A brother, John P. McCormick of Oswego, N.Y. A nephew, two nieces, several cousins. Born June 15, 1927 in Massena, NY, the son of Daniel and Lila (Johnston) McCormick. He married Gloria Colomb in Swanton, VT. on June 27, 1951, at the Church of the Nativity, with the Rev. Oliva Langlois, Society of St. Edmund. Daniel received his BA from St. Michaels' College in Colchester, Vt in history and a Masters in Education from St. Lawrence University. He completed further graduate studies at St. Lawrence, Cornell and Syracuse, Universities. He taught American and Canadian History at Massena High School. He introduced the Canadian History program at the Massena School and assisted the State Education Department in its adoption in several other New York State school systems. A veteran of World War II, McCormick served as Technical Sgt./Medical NCO in charge of medical and orthopedic services. 9958th tsu/sgo, Tilton General Hospital, Fort Dix, NJ. An ardent supporter of professionalism in education, he was a member of both NYS United Teachers and NYS Retired Teachers Association. A meals on wheels volunteer for over 20 years, he was also a member of the Massena Senior Citizens, Amvets Post #4 and American Legion post #79. Daniel served as coach of the Massena High School cross country team for 17 years. Each year races attracted up to one thousand runners from high schools in NY, Vermont, Ontario and Quebec. He was especially very interested in the preservation of the maritime history of the St. Lawrence River and the Great Lakes. He was a member of the Steamship Historical Society, World Ship Society (London), Marine Historical Society of Detroit, Toronto Marine Historical Society, Great Lakes Maritime Institute, Lake Superior Marine Museum Association, Marine Museum of the Great Lakes at Kingston, National Mairtime Society, and Liverpool Nautical Research Society. He authored two books regarding the St. Lawrence Seaway Shipping History.

Cemetery in Massena. Calling hours will be held Thursday morning at the Phillips Memorial Home from 10 am until the time of services. Mr. Saucier died Monday (November 10, 2008), at Massena Memorial Hospital in Massena, NY after being stricken at home with cardiac arrest. Joseph A. Saucier was born March 5, 1949 in Massena, NY, the son of Wilfred and Theresa (Beaudoin) Saucier. He attended local schools. He married Darlene Ladison on December 22, 1979 in Massena. At one time he was employed at Sears in Leominister, Ma. He later moved back to Massena where he was employed at Massena Chrysler Automobile Sales until he was disabled. Surviving Joseph A Saucier is his wife, Darlene, a daughter: Angela Saucier of Massena, three sons; Joseph A. of Gardner, Ma, Ronald M of Worcester, Ma, Brian G. of Houston, Tx. a granddaughter. He was predeceased by a sister, Mary Gardner. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, playing guitar, spending time with his family. He was always interested in helping others that were less fortunate . |

Miller died Friday afternoon (November 14, 2008), at his home in Chase Mills, NY. after a long illness with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. He is survived by his wife, Bambi , a son Wade J., a daugther, Shannon Donnelly of Massena, his father, Benjamin Miller of Massena, N.Y. his mother Sandra (Labaff) Miller of Norwood, maternal grandmother, Marlene Labaff and companion Robert Vallance of Norwood, maternal grandfather Gerald LaBaff of Waddington, paternal grandfather Robert Miller of DeGrasse, paternal grandmother Shirley Fiacco of Madrid, a sister, Nicole Miller of Louisville, three brothers: Benjamin of Massena, Corey of Norwood, James of Louisville. aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by an infant daughter Kassandra. Joseph L. Miller was born June 14, 1981 in Potsdam, NY, the son of Benjamin Miller and Sandra (Labaff) Miller. A graduate of Potsdam High School, he was on the Varsity Wrestling Team while in high school. He was married to Bambi Smith on January 15, 2005 in Madrid by Rev. Douglas Shear. He was self employed as a laborer doing carpentry, painting and landscaping. He enjoyed restoring cars. |

Mr. and Mrs. Kassian were killed Friday evening Novemeber 14, 2008, in an automobile accident on Cornwall Island. Edward is survived by his three children, Michael E. and wife Christine of Massena, Douglas E. and wife Lucille T. Kassian Massena, Sylvia K. and husband Michael L. Bayle of Wilton, NY. Four grandchildren, Kathleen E, Evan M. Kassian, Aylcia L and Andrew D. Kassian all of Massena. He was predeceased by two sisters : Sylvia Kassian and Sona Burns. Edward was the son of Haig (Ike) and Arshalus (Tatunjian) Kassian. He married Eileen Abraham on August 23, 1958 at the Trinity Anglican Church in Cornwall, Ontario. He served in the Marine Corps for 2 years prior to the Korean Conflict. He received a BS at Champlain College, and a Masters Degree at St. Lawrence University in Chemistry. He was employed at Massena Central School as a Science Teacher from 1958-1990. Following retirement he was a salesman for Electrolux Sales, and he owned and operated Kassian Wood Stove Shop in Massena. He was also a licensed real estate broker for Leanered J. Langlois Agency in Massena. He was a member of F & AM Masonic Lodge #513, Armenian Community Center, member of the NYS Retired Teachers Association, Elks Lodge #1702. |

She was predeceased by a sister and four brothers, Olivia Moses, Norman, Fred, Nasab, Nusri Abraham. Mrs. Kassian was born in Cornwall, Ontario, the daughter of Asaf and Barbara (Kalil) Abraham. She married Edward Kassian on August 23, 1958 at the Trinity Angilcan Church in Cornwall, Ontario. She was employed at Bon-Ton Department Store as a sales clerk for many years. |

Leon went to be with his Lord Wednesday, November 19, 2008, at Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center in Ogdensburg, NY. He is survived by his sister Mrs. Donald (Betty) Deleel of Massena, his companion Marie Searles of Massena. Nieces, nephew, and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother, Carl Kellison, sister Pat Lashomb. His parents, Richard and Mabel (Empey) Kellison. Born September 18, 1941 in Louisville, NY. He married Imelda L. "Millie" Doth on March 3, 1973 at the Church of the Sacred Heart by Rev. Griffith Billmeyer, Mrs. Kellison predeceased him on June 12, 2001. Leon worked at the Acme Market in Massena, NY. He then purchased and operated the Heuvelton IGA Store. He loved to go to the mall and socialize with friends. Memorial Contributions may be directed to the St. Lawrence County Hospice and Palliative Care in Leon's memory.

In her free time, Marlene enjoyed Cleaning the house and working with flowers but most importantly, Marlene enjoyed the time she spent with her family and grandchildren. Discharge as a QM4c in May 1946 he started work for the New
York He married Janet A. Oliver in Ogdensburg . He was a member of the TELCO Pioneers( Telephone company), the American Legion Post # 79, the VFW # 1143. a member of the Massena Yacht Club since 1971. The Massena Elks Lodge # 1702

Mr. Marich died Monday evening (November 24, 2008) in the Massena Memorial Hospital emergency room after being stricken at home. John is survived by his loving wife of 15 yrs Cathy, a stepdaughter Christina Sharpe , two step-grandchildren: Cameron and Carter Monroe all of Massena., two brothers and a sister; Sheila Pelton of Rochester, NY, Charles of Sun City , Az, Jovan of Massena, nieces and nephews Mr. Marich was born February 15, 1935 in Ogdensburg, NY the son of Jovan Marich and Anna (Humenick) Marich. He graduated from Bowles Military Academy, Fl. He attended St Lawrence University and Clarkson College. For many years Mr. Marich was a Golf pro instructor for Holland-American Cruise Lines and for the Norwegian-American Cruise Lines. Following his stint on the winter cruise lines he then became the Golf Pro Superintendant for Tupper Lake Golf Club for many years. He came to Massena where he was the Golf Pro Superintendant for the Massena Country Club for 23 years. J ohn Married Cathy Ashley Sharpe November 18, 1993 at the Emmanuel Congregational Church by Rev. Lance Dallaire. In 1989, 1991 and 1992 he was named North Eastern New York Senior Golf Professional. John was one of the founders of the Adirondack Golf Course Superintendants Association. 1994 Mr. Marich was inducted in the Massena High School Hall of Fame for his athletic accomplishments . For two years he was the Potsdam Country Club Pro Superintendant. At the time of his death he was employed by Guardsmark Security as a security guard at Alcoa.

Hills died peacefully at his home on November 19th, 2008
surrounded by his family.

Don was a technology and driver education teacher in the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake School district for forty years. He truly loved teaching, taught joyfully, and saw in each student true potential. Many current members of the Burnt Hills community remember him as an inspiration and a mentor. He was very active in the Burnt Hills community including time as a coach, scout leader, volunteer fireman, and local committee member. He was born in Waddington, NY, a small community on the St. Lawrence River where his love for nature and boating began. He was the son of James Wesley Pemberton and Frances Driscoll Pemberton. He was predeceased by his first wife of 20 years, Lorraine Mackos Pemberton. He is survived by his loving wife, Carol Forman-Pemberton of Burnt Hills, NY; his two sons, Brent Donald Pemberton (Angela) of Albany, NY and Carey James Pemberton of Greensboro, NC; his step-son, Todd Forman (Amy) and his children Megan and Connor, of Holliston, MA; his step-daughter Jenny Marcotte (Jeff) and her sons Zachary and Evyn of Corinth, NY; his sister, Susan Brown, of Waddington, NY, and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Family was the number one priority in Don's life. He would always arrive to help with a project early, eager, completely prepared, and with a van full of tools. If there was a wall in the way, he made a door. Any left-over time was devoted to his Harley, his boats, his cars, his tractor-and most anything with wheels and a motor.
