Funeral services for Lorraine "Lori" J Hotte, 64, of 14384 State Highway 37 Louisville NY will be held Friday at 10:00 AM  at Sacred Heart in Massena, with Rev. Donald J Manfred  presiding. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Massena.

Calling hours will be held Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Phillips Memorial Home in Massena.

Lori passed away at home under the loving care of her family and Hospice on Tuesday (July  1, 2008).

She  is survived by her husband James of Louisville, three daughtersand son in-laws,and a son, Tina and husband Larry  McClintock of Winchester, Va., Cynthia and husband Henry McGee of Lumberton, N.C. Racheal and husband Melvin Wright of Windermere, Fla. John Hotte and fiancee Diane Carter of Massena, N.Y. Seven grandchildren, Jared, Jacob, Daylon, Will, Morgan, John, Melonie. Two sisters and a brother, Pauline Smith of New Caney, Texas, Priscilla Schepis of Medina, N.Y. Sam Lanphear of Massena. Several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Roycean Roger Lanphear.

Born December  3, 1943 in Northfield, MA, the daughter of  Floyd and Florence (Downs) Lanphear.

She was employed at the St. Regis Nursing Home for 23 years, working in the activities department.  She had special training in teaching in CCD.

She was a girl scout leader for 12 years. Lori was very active in Church affairs, Precanna, Courcillo, marriage encounter. Very active in St. Vincent DePaul.

She enjoyed being with her grandchildren. She enjoyed painting landscapes and sharing them with her family.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley or Trinity Catholic Endowment Fund.

Funeral services for Rosemarie " Rose" Jahne, 81, of 1356 County Route # 44 Waddington, NY will be held 10:00 am Tuesday July 8, 2008 at St Mary's Church with Rev. Mgsr. Robert Lawler presiding. Interment will be in St Mary's Cemetery ,Waddington.

Calling hours will be held Monday evening from 7-9 pm at the Phillips Memorial Home, Waddington.

Mrs. Jahne died Friday morning (July  4, 2008), at the Highland Nursing Home in Massena, NY. where she had been a patient for the past five days.

Surviving Rosemarie "Rose" Jahne  is her husband Fred, a daughter, three sons and their wives: Deborah Jahne of melrose,NY. Fred and Elizabeth Jahne of Hoosick Falls, NY, David and Janice Jahne of Avondale, Az, Donald and Lois Ann Jahne of Cambridge, NY. six grandchildren and one grt grand daughter. She is also survived by a brother and three sisters: Ivan Bullock of Star Lake, NY, Mazie Davey of Hopkinton, NY, Iva Russo and June Kerr both of Star Lake, NY, several nieces and nephews.

Born June 17, 1927 in Newton Falls, NY, the daughter of Warren and Mary ( Brown) Bullock. 

Rosemarie married Fred Jahne April 22, 1950 at St Hubert's Church, Star Lake. She and her husband resided in Waddington for past 24 years since Mr. Jahne's retirement.

She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church.

Family asks that memorial contributions to St. Mary's Church Memorial Fund.

Memorial services for Rev. Richard J. Lauterbach, 88, of 12 Green St. Waddington, NY will be held Friday July 25, 2008  at 2:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church in Waddington.  Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery in Waddington.

There will be no public calling hours.

Rev. Lauterbach died Monday (July  6, 2008), at his home in Waddington, NY.

He is survived by his wife Joan, daughters, Amy Beth and husband Russell Pokorny of Berne, N.Y., Ann Lynn and husband Matthew Ecker of East Berne, N.Y., grandchildren,John Benjamin Lauterback, Ada Leigh Lauterback  and Lucas Anton Ecker. Step children Robin Rogers Hazelton of Heuvelton, N.Y., Michael V. Rogers of Utica, N.Y., Rick A. Rogers of Towanda, Pa. Step grandchildren, Craig A. Hazelton, Tessa E. Hazelton, Lindsey Nicole Rogers, Codey Thomas Rogers, Matthew Michael Rogers, Madison Taylor Rogers, Derek Adam Rogers.   A sister in-law Betsy Lauterback of Falls Church, Va.

He was predeceased by a brother Harris Y. Lauterbach.

Born  April  5, 1920 in Lansdown, PA, the son of John and  Edna (Ryder) Lauterbach.

He graduated from Nether Providence High School in Wallingford, PA, attended undergraduate school at Waynesburg College in Waynesburg, Pa and graduated from McCormick Theological Seminary, Chicago, Il.

He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1941-1945, serving in North Africa and Italy.

He married Joan Swartz Rogers on April 14, 1973.

He was employed at John Wanamaker Department store in Philadelphia, PA as a clerk/musican, General Electric Co. in Pa, Argyle Presbyterian Church in Colchester, IL, West Prarie Presbyterian Church in Adair, IL, First Presbyterian Church in Windsor, NY, and First Presbyterian Church in Heuvelton, NY for the past 15 years.

He was an avid sports fan.

For many years he played trombone in the Heuvelton Stage Band.

He enjoyed collecting and building train sets, he liked to work with his hands building train scenery sets.

Funeral services for Murray J. Fisher, 67 of 863 Buck Road Madrid, NY will be held Saturday (July 12, 2008) 11:00 am at the Scotch Presbyterian Church, Chipman with Rev. Noel Allen officiating. Interment will be Madrid Cemetery.

Calling hours  will be held Thursday evening form 7-9 pm and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Phillips Memorial Home, Madird.

Mr. Fisher died Monday evening, at Fletcher Allen Medical Center, Burlington. VT.

Surviving Murray J. Fisher is his wife of 44 years, Marjorie, his parents; James and Emily Fisher of Chipman, two sons, Gregory M. of Bangor, Douglas C. of Albany, a brother Dr. Stephen and  his wife Debbie Fisher of Chipman, two sisters; Diana Fisher of Potsdam and Mrs. Russell (Margaret) Strait of Waddington. Several nieces and newphs.

Murray J. Fisher was born May 3, 1941 in Ogdensburg, NY the son of James and Emily (Long) Fisher.

A graduate of Madrid-Waddington high School in 1959 and a graduate of Canton ATI with an Associated Degree in Agricultural Science.

Married Marjorie Dunn November 6, 1965 at  Lisbon White Church. At one time.

Mr. Fisher worked on the family farm in Chipman until later becoming an insurance agent for Harrison A. Rogers Insurance for 20 yrs.

He was past member of the Waddington Lions Club, member and President of the NYW Jersey Cattle Club, was Madrid Town Supervisor for six years, served as Madrid Town Justice for 30 yrs. Lifetime member of the Scotch Presbyterian Church in Chipman and  served on the Sessions for the Church, very active with the St. Lawrence Power and Dquipment Musuem in Madrid.

Funeral services for Candide "Candi" A. Newton, 49, of 80 West Lincoln Ave. Waddington, NY will be private at the covenience of the family. Interment will be in Brookside Cemetery, Waddington.

Mrs. Newton died Monday (July 7, 2008), from complications of COPD at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington, VT.

Surviving Candide (Candi) is her husband Maurice ( Boomer ) , two daughters and a son: Brenda L Newton and Becky L. Newton both of Madrid, Brian A, Newton of Waddington, four grandchildren: Makakla Newton Robert Ashley, Kady Newton and Ryan Bennett, two sisters Bobbett Hvostenko of Liverpool, Bonnie Wheellock, FL., several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Newton was born June 25, 1959 in Syracuse, NY, the daughter of the late Robert and the late Nellie (Bassler) Revette.

Graduate of Minoa High School.

Married Orville Wells, he later died. Married Maurice ( Boomer) Newton December 23, 1989 in Waddington.

At one time she was employed at Twin Brooks Gold Course as a clerk. Earlier she had been a Madrid-Waddington School bus driver and was employed at Sharlow's Gas Station in Waddington.

Funeral Services for Catherine M. (Garrow) Bigtree age 80 of 322 St. Regis Rd., Hogansburg, NY will be he held at the Phillips Memorial Home, 64 Andrews St., Massena, NY on Monday, July 14, 2008 at 8:30 PM. 

Family and Friends are invited to call at the Phillips Memorial Home on Monday, July 14, 2008 from 2 to 4PM and from 7 to 8:30PM.  Funeral Service will follow at 8:30 PM with Rev. George Belgarde officiating. 

Interment will take place in the St. Regis Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

Catherine went to be with her Lord on Friday, July 11, 2008 at the TSIIONKWANONHSO:TE Nursing Home, Akwesasne, ONT. 

She is survived by her husband of over 50 years, John Bigtree, Jr. of Hogansburg, NY   Daughters and sons-in-law,  Mary and Ray Cook of Poolsville, MD, Lou Ann Paquin of Hogansburg, NY; Frances and Rinaldo Charles of Escandido, CA.   Sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Caroline Bigtree of Hogansburg, NY; Larry Bigtree of Hogansburg, NY; Joseph and Roberta Bigtree of Hogansburg, NY;Patrick Bigtree of Ogdensburg, NY; Norman Bigtree of Hogansburg, NY; Charlie Bigtree of Poolsville, MD and Robert Bigtree of Heulvelton, NY.   Mrs. Bigtree is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and numerous cousins and friends.

Catherine was born on April 2, 1928 in St. Regis, Quebec to the late Angus and Mary  (Oakes) Garrow. 

She married John Bigtree, Jr., in 1950 at the St. Regis Catholic Church, St. Regis, Quebec with Rev. Michael Jacobs officiating. 

Catherine worked for the Shields Slipper Factory in Bombay, NY and also worked as a chamber maid at the Hotel Cornwallis, Cornwall, ONT. and other Hotel's in Syracuse and Lake Placid, NY.   Mrs. Bigtree loved to travel and and take scenic drives thru the adirondacks in one of her many Lincoln's that she owned.  Whether it was shopping for clothes, jewelry or a new Lincoln Town Car, Catherine will always be remembered for her fine taste.  

In her free time, Catherine loved to make Sweet Grass Baskets, but she especially enjoyed the time she spent with her family and grandchildren.   Donations may be directed to the St. Regis Catholic Church Renovation Fund.

The American Legion Auxiliary services will be held at 3:15 pm at the funeral home.

Dale passed away on Friday (July 11, 2008), at the  Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington, VT.

She is survived by her Loving husband of 34 years, Kenneth McGee, her mother Jean Charland of Massena. Her children, Dori St. Pierre of Massena, N.Y., Toby McGee of Massena, N.Y.Sisters, and brother, Sandra Smith of South Carolina,Kimberly Chambers of Quakertown, Pa.,Darrell Charland of Latham, N.Y. Grandchildren, Trevor & Jacob Kelher of Potsdam, NY, Jennifer & Cassandra St. Pierre of Massena,  and Andy, Hailey, & Aubrey McGeeall of Massena. Several nieces and nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her father, Donald, and a daughter Sheri Lee McGee Kelher, and a niece, Jean Marie Carney.

Born January 18, 1955 in Massena, NY, the daughter of Donald and Jean (Montroy) Charland.

Dale graduated from Massena Central School in 1973. 

She  worked for P&C Grocery Store as a Baker and also worked as a waitress at Flanders Hotel.

She married Kenneth McGee on July 29, 1974 in Norwood/ Norfolk, NY.

She  was an avid bingo player, cribbage player and dice. She loved softball. She was a amateur comedian, and Dale always kept everyone laughing.

She enjoyed fishing and playing miniature golf, but dale always cherished the time she spent with her family, grandchildren and especially her husband, Kenneth.

 She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and member of the the Sacred Heart Church.

In Lieu of Flowers, Donations may be directed to the Phillips Memorial Home to assist the with expenses.

Dick died Wednesday (July 16, 2008), at Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center in Ogdensburg, NY, after a battle with cancer.

He is survived by his mother Ida Mae White of Brasher, N.Y. His sons Jeffrey and wife Tracy White of Gouverneur, N.Y., Chad and wife Kelly White of Waddington, N.Y. A brother Thomas H. White of Helena, N.Y. Five grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother Delon G. and his father.

Born  September  9, 1949 in Massena, NY, the son of Clement  and Ida Mae (Paige) White.

He graduated from St. Lawrence Central and attended Canton ATC for master mechanic. 

For most of his career he was self employed, having owned Whites Logging and Trucking. For the past year he was employed at Farley Equipment.

He married Connie Cryderman on July 17, 1971 the marriage ended in divorce.

She is survived by her children, Roseanne Morin and companion Kevin Converse of Massena, N.Y., Judy Ryan and companion Wayne Davis of Massena, N.Y., sons Thomas and wife Donna Murray, Sam and wife Sandy Murray ,Terry and wife Joane Murray, Mark and wife Linda Ryan, Denny Ryan all of Massena, N.Y. 21grandchildren 23 grt grandchildren ,3 grt great-grandchild, three sisters, and two brothers, Betty Parameter of Waddington, N.Y., Eileen Murray of Norfolk, N.Y.Shirley and Paul McGregor of Raymondville, N.Y. Brothers, Harold Jr. and wife Connie Villnave of Raymondville, Gary and wife Judy Villnave of Waddington.

She was predeceased by a brother, Francis Villnave.

Patricia "Teresa" was born December 23, 1930 in Massena the daughter of Harold and  Rose (Mossow) Villnave.

She attended Waddington Schools.

She married Lyle Murray, the marriage ended in divorce. She later married Max Ryan who predeceased her on January 21, 2001.

She and her husband owned and operated the Horsecollar Tavern. She  was a  homemaker. She enjoyed ceramics and having her grandchildren stay with her.

John M. Koch


John M. Koch, 78 of Emporia, Va and formerly of Potsdam passed away Monday morning July  21, 2008 at home under the loving care of his family and hospice.

Calling hours will be Friday evening from 5 to 9 pm at the Phillips Memorial Home, 20 Church St. Madrid, NY.

Graveside services will be Saturday 10 am at the Madrid Cemetery with Full Military Honors.

Born in Madrid May 27, 1930 the son of Kenneth and Georgianna (Morgan) Koch. A graduate of MadridHigh School, attended SUNY  Potsdam College.

Married Ruth Sherman August 26, 1956 at the Madrid Methodist Church.

Mr. Koch served in the United States Navy from 1950 to 1954. He retired as a storeroom manager from Niagra Mohawk Power Corp in Potsdam where they resided until moving to Emporia, Va in 1989.

He had several hobbies with woodworking being his biggest interest.

Surviving John M. Koch is his wife Ruth of 52 years, a daughter  Debra Brigman and her husband James of  Carolina Beach, NC, Jeffrey and Leavelle Koch of Emporia, VA, a grandaughter Kayla Duesterdick of Shantilly, VA, two brothers and three sisters: Samand Marian Koch of Orange City, FL, Daniel and Elizabeth Koch of East Syracuse, Laura and Ross Snowdon of Madrid, Lina St. Pierre of Massena, Glenna Koch of Norfolk, several nieces and nephews also he is survived by his beloved pet " Boots'.

He was predeceased by a daughter Gayl, a son Timothy, brothers George and William.

Robert  died Wednesday (July 23, 2008), at the home of his daughter Brenda, under the loving care of his family and Hospice.

He is survived by his wife Jean, children, Nancy and husband Larry Yaddow of Louisville, N.Y. Brenda Perkins of Louisville, N.Y. Robert Jr. and wife Kim of Syracuse, N.Y., Neal and wife Wanda Blair of Snellville, GA. A sister, Shirley Sanders of Nedrow, N.Y., a brother Kenneth Blair of Louisville, N.Y. Seven grandchildren, Four great-grandchildren, also surviving is a close brother in-law Homer Kelly.

He was predeceased by a daughter Linda in infancy and a sister Inez Dishaw.

Born June  4, 1931 in Ogdensburg, NY, the son of  George  and Genevieve (White) Blair. He married Jean Kelly on December 1, 1951 at the Church of the Sacred Heart.

He was employed at Alcoa and later entered the US Airforce.

At one time he worked at W. G. Hawes Trucking as a driver. He later was employed at Reynolds Metals in 1966 and retired in 1993 after 28 years having worked as a pot tender. 

He enjoyed taking care of and working on cars.

She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years Andy Maslin; her parents Derald and Pauline Ingraham of Chenango Forks, NY. Five sons, Andy E. and wife Kathy J. Maslin of Norfolk, N.Y., Darian L. Maslin and Stacy Weegar of Raymondville, N.Y.,David A. Maslin Daniel L. Maslin, Aaron L. Maslin and Melissa Pitts all of Chase Mills, N.Y. 10 grandchildren, Andy, Zachary, Quinton, Aubriyle, Alannah, and GraciMae Maslin all of Norfolk, NY.  Brandon V. Richards of Norfolk, NY, Alyvia M. Weegar of Raymondville, NY, Alexandria M. Morrisette of Massena, NY and Aaron L. Maslin Jr. of Chase Mills, NY.  A sister and brother in-law, Beverly and Roger Botting, two brothers, Dick and Liz Ingraham and Larry Ingraham all of Chenango Forks, NY, Several nieces and nephews and extended family members.

She was predeceased by a son Allyn L. Maslin at age 4.

Donna  was born July 29, 1946 in Chenango Forks, NY, the daughter of Derald and Pauline (Finch) Ingraham.

She married Andy L. Maslin on March 26, 1966 in Triangle, NY. The couple moved to Chase Mills, NY in 1982 where they settled to raise their family.

She was a homemaker and proud mother.

She enjoyed running the Bargain Center with her husband in Massena, gardening, camping at State Parks, and wading in the St. Lawrence River, but most of all spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren and living for the Lord.

Funeral Services for Pearl G Sterling, 98 of 34 Bucktown Rd, Massena will be Wednesday at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church.

Prayer services will be Wednesday at 9:30 AM at the Phillips Memorial Home in Massena.

Interment will be in Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery, Churubusco, NY.

Mrs. Sterling died early Sunday morning at the St. Regis Nursing Home where she had been a resident since 2006.

Surviving Mrs Sterling is a son and a daughter: William (Ken) and wife Lorretta Richey of Massena, Mrs. Robert (Arlene) Smith of Plattsburgh. NY.  Four grandchildren,  seven great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a brother Kenneth LaChance.

Born April 20, 1910 in Churubusco, NY  the daughter of William and Melvina  (Patnode) LaChance.

She was educated in local schools.

She married Benjamin Richey in Chateugay, the marriage ended in divorce. She later  married Peter Sterling August 15, 1953 in Arlington, VA. He predeceased her on August 26, 1988.

She was a homemaker.

Oreson went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, July30, 2008 at the Massena Memorial Hospital.

He is survived by his Loving wife of 70 years June Perry; a son,Wendell Perry of Woodburn, Ore.  Sister,  Edith Lucia of Massena. Four grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Oreson was predeceased by his son, Matthew Perry, Sister's, Mildred Yedlicka and Marion Premo.  Brothers, Clyde and Harley Perry. daughter- in-law,  Marsha (Taylor) Perry, brother- in-law Robert Lucia, 

Mr. Perry was Born on August  3, 1916 in Massena,NY, to the late  Henry and Emma (Lareech) Perry.

He graduated from Massena High School.  

Oreson Married June Marlow on October 2, 1937 at the Church of the Sacred Heart.

He  worked  for Alcoa as a supervisor in 140 building for over 40 years of dedicated services. 

He  was a member of the  25 Year Club at Alcoa. 

Oreson was a  past member of the Knights of Columbus and the Raymondville Golf Club.

In his free time, Oreson  enjoyed reading and playing golf, but most importantly he always cherished the time he spent with his family.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Phillips memorial Home, Massena, August 4, 2008 Monday at 8:00 pm at the funeral home,

Friends may call  Monday, August 4 at the Phillips Memorial Home, 64 Andrews Street, Massena from 7 - 8 pm.  A Celebration of  Life Services will follow calling hours at 8:00 PM. Interment  in Calvary Cemetery.

Arthur is survived by his three sons and a daughter: Bryan and Paul Hebert  of Massena and Chris Hebert address unknown, Laurie Hebert  of Massena. A step daughter, Jill Vaqueze. Two sisters: Mrs.  Ben ( Paula ) Harvey, Sandra Rochefort both of Massena, threebrothers; Paul and Libby Hebert of Dover, Del, Richard and Judy Hebert of Waddington, Charles and companion Karen Derouchie, of Massena, several neices and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters: Gail Fuller and Corrine Fountain and also a niece Kim Boback.

Born in Massena on July 10, 1940 the son of Arthur F. and Geneva ( King) Hebert. He was educated in local schools.

A marriage to Raynell Tucker ended in divorce.

At one time he was a self-employed contractor in the Massena area, later moving to Leesburg, Florida where he resided .
