Several nieces and nephews. Mary was born July 31, 1948 in Malone, NY, the daughter of the late Arthur and Norma (French) Durham. She graduated from Norwood-Norfolk Central School. Mary moved to Rochester, NY to further her education and enrolled in Nazareth College. After Graduating from Nazareth College, Mary lived and worked for several years in the greater Rochester, NY area. Kevin passed unexpectedly on Saturday December 6, 2008 at Massena Memorial Hospital. He is survived by his Loving wife of 35 years, Mary (Dishaw) Southwick. Daughters and sons-in-laws, Carey and Evan Fink of Rensselaer Falls, N.Y. Tracy and Jason Amell of Tupper Lake, N.Y. Grandchildren, Sarah and Nathan Fink of Rensselaer Falls, NY. Brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles Southwick, Jr. of Canastota, N.Y, William and Barbara Southwick of Vernon, N.Y. Bryan Southwick of Canastota, N.Y. Sisters and brothers-in-law, Sister Roberta Southwick of Utica, N.Y., Sally Southwick of New York, Veronica and Maurice Cusson of Hooksett, N.H., Monica and Marcel Lauzon of Ft. Covington, N.Y., Martha and Bayard Charpentier of West Monroe, N.Y. as well as several nieces and nephews. Mr. Southwick was Born on August 25, 1948 in Malone, NY and was the son of the late Charles and Josephine (O'Brien) Southwick. Kevin graduated from Salmon River Central School and was the top graduate at the Manpower Training Center in Potsdam for auto body and fender repair in 1968. He proudly served his country in the Vietnam War and was awarded the Army Commendation Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Bronze Star, and The First Oak Leaf Cluster to the Bronze Star. Kevin recently retired from St. Lawrence University as a skilled tradesman with 31 years of dedicated services. He was an avid pool player, guitar player, and enjoyed singing. He was a member of the Sunny Mountain Boys Band and a Member of the Andrew W. Cook Post 1479 Legion in Akwesasne, NY. He also served as a member of St. Patrick's Parish Council. Kevin enjoyed landscaping, working on cars, and refinishing furniture. He loved his home and will always be remembered as a devoted family man and everyone's friend. Thursday starting at 11:00 AM at the Phillips Memorial Home
in Massena where her friends and family may come to reflect
and remember. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Massena. Sheila went to be with her Lord Monday December 8, 2008 after a short illness with lung cancer. She is survived by her children, Kara and Jonathan Rourke of Arlington, Va.,David and Patricia Harrod of Rixyville, VA. Her mother Fleurette LaShomb, brothers, Roger L. and Julia LaShomb ,Joseph R. LaShomb , Phillip B. LaShomb all of Massena, N.Y. Timothy LaShomb of Potsdam, two sisters, Susan and Vic Bader of Oriskany, NY., Mary Hall of Massena, N.Y. Two grandsons, Alex Stotler and Dakota Harrod ofRixyville, VA. Sheila was born November 20, 1947 in Massena , the son of Lawrence and Fleurette (LaLonde) LaShomb. She went to school at Sacred Heart School and Holy Family High School. A marriage to Roger Harrod ended in divorce. She worked the last few years at the St. Lawrence County Chemical Dependency in Canton, NY. She had once commented that this was her most important position in her working career because she felt she was able to make a positive difference in others lives. During her leisure time, Sheila enjoyed reading, knitting, cooking, and spending time with her family and her dogs. She was a very giving person and spent a lot of time collecting donations for the local animal shelters and the Renewal House of Canton, NY. Family was very important to her and she was instrumental in keeping the annual family reunion going. For those wishing to do so, please consider donations in Sheila's memory to the Human Society, Renewal House or Hospice & Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley who were a major source of support for the family during her final days. |

There will be no calling hours. Carol went to be with her Lord Sunday December7, 2008, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY, due to multi organ failure. She is survived by her husband John Hess of Potsdam, her mother Janet Brownell of Canton, her children, Ryan and Ginette Hess both of Potsdam, N.Y. Two brothers, and a sister, Gary Brownell of West Richland, Wash., Stephen Brownell of Ann Arbor, Mich. , Pamela Brownell Bellingham of Washington. Several nieces and nephews. Born March 23, 1957 in Cambridge, England, the daughter of Lloyd and Janet (Emmons) Brownell. She graduated from Canton ATC with a dual degree as a Vet Tech and Mechaincal Drafting. She married John R. Hess in October 1986. She was a homemaker. Carol was an avid horse rider, and very much loved horses and animals. Memorial contributions may be made to the Human Society in Carol's memory.

Her children, Bobbie-Sue Peloquin of East Syracuse, N.Y., Joshua Peloquin of South Carolina Justin Peloquin of Auburn, N.Y. Her mother, Nancy Shepard of Chicopee, MA. Sister, and brothers, Betty, Trevor, Kevin, and Lynwood "Dutchie" . Numerous step brothers and step sisters. Grandchildren, Mason and Logan Peloquin of South Carolina. She was predeceased by her father George Sheperd, a brother Ronald. Born September 5, 1962 in Pittsfield, MA, the daughter of Nancy Fisk. She married Robert S. Peloquin onJanuary 18, 1986 at the Faith United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ann Greer in Chicopee, MA. She was a devoted mother. She liked to read, and was a huge Elvis fan, she liked to sun bath. Susan enjoyed listening to country music and guessing the artist. Susan will always be remembered as a devoted mother. She has been living in Northern New York for the last 22 years. Edward went to be with his Lord Wednesday (December 10, 2008) after a 2 1/2 year struggle with cancer at Massena Memorial Hospital . He is survived by his wife Nancy, two sons, Matthew J. Hubert of San Diego, Ca, and Scott and wife Abby Hubert of Massena, N.Y. A brother, Daniel L. Hubert of Massena, N.Y. He was predeceased by a brother James in 1971. Born June 8, 1950 in Massena, NY, the son of the late Howard and Barbara (Hutton) Hubert. A 1968 graduate of Massena High School, and the University of Buffalo with a Degree in Electrical Engineering. Married Nancy Pike May 28,1977 at the Emmanuel Congregational UCC by Rev. Douglas Fowler. He was employed at the New York State Power Authority as a Senior Vice President of Transmission retiring in 2005. While in high school in was a life guard at Barnhart Beach on Barnhart Island. He was the Class President of 1968. Last Friday December 5, 2008 Mr. Hubert was honored with the Massena Basketball Association Sportsman Award at the High School renaming it in his name the "Edward L. Hubert Sportsman Award". He served as president of Massena Country Club, An active member of Massena Basketball Association, where he coached Biddy Basketball, and also coached Massena Little League. Member of B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge #1702, past member of Massena Rotary Club and past Chairman of the Rotary Pancake Breakfast Fund raising project. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed playing racquet ball, fishing, and boating on the St. Lawrence River. Joan worked as a secretary in the Administrative Office at the Massena Central School. Mrs. Larrabee was an avid reader. In her free time, Joan enjoyed Figure Skating, Playing Scrabble, solving crossword puzzles and traveling. Joan loved to take trips to Florida, Syracuse, and Saratoga which she would stay for months at a time. Mrs. Larrabee loved animals, especially her favorite Dog "Luke". Joan will always be remembered as a Devoted Mother and grandmother. Memorial contributions may be directed to the St. Lawrence County Humane Society in Joan's memory.

Dr. Livingston died Friday at the United Helpers Canton Nursing Home where he had been a resident for the past month. Samuel Livingston was born March 10, 1922 in Lisbon,NY, the son of Charles and Addie (Chambers) Livingston. Graduate of Heuvelton High School, Houghton College and George Washington University, Washington, DC. He completed his residency at Fordham Hospital, New York City, NY. Married Mary A. Merkley November 21, 1947 at the United Methodist Church, Ogdensburg with Rev. Clyde Sparling officiating with attendants Dr Roy and Gloria Livingston, brother and sister -in-law of the bridegroom. Dr. Livingston operated a general medical practice for 40 yers from 1947 to 1987 in Madrid. He and his Mary resided in Madrid during his years of practice until recently moving to Canton. He was St. Lawrence County coroner for 19 yrs. He also served on the St. Lawrence County Public Health Department and as a school physician in Madrid. He was a member of county and state medical societies also the American Medical Association. Following his retirement he served as Medical Director at the United Helpers Canton Nursing Home and formerly Medical Director at the Potsdam Community Nursing Home. Survivng Dr. Samuel Livingston is his wife of 61 yrs, Mary. two daughters: Dr Stephen and wife Deborah Fisher of Madrid, Laurie and her companion Jean McGowan of Jamestown, a grandaughter, Stephanie Fisher of Madrid, a brother Roy Livingston DDS of Ogdensburg,. He was predeceased by two brothers, Drs. Harold and Howard Livingston. One of Dr. Livingston's pastimes was raising Registered Holsteins and sheep on his farm in Madrid., He enjoyed spending his time with his granddaughter and woodworking as a hobby.

She is survived by her husband Steven Ashley her parents Joseph and Sharon Gauthier of Winthrop, N.Y. Three daughters, Chelsea A., Courtney A., Caitlin L. Ashley all at home. Two sisters, Jodi and husband Jeff White of Brasher Falls, N.Y. Lyette Gauthier of Massena, N.Y. A brother, Chad and wife Michelle Gauthier of Winthrop, N.Y. Many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Born August 20, 1969 in Massena, NY, the daughter of Joseph and Sharon (Derouchie) Gauthier. She graduated from St. Lawrence Central School and Potsdam State with a Bachlors Degree in Elementary Education, and a Masters Degree in Elementary Education. She married Steven E. Ashley on February 16, 1991 at St. Patrick's Church in Brasher Falls with the Rev. James Shurlelf presiding. She taught for five years for Boces St. Lawrence and previously at Madrid-Waddington School as an Elementary Teacher. She was a member of American Legion Ladies Auxiliary of Waddington. She enjoyed being with her daughters in various sports events including, soccer, basketball and figure skating.

Stacey graduated from Massena Central School in 1994, and then graduated from Mater Dei College. She married Jason Garcia on September 19, 1998 at the First United Methodist Church in Massena. She was employed at Linder Vet Clinic as a Secretary and was also the manager at Blair Sports in Massena. Stacey loved to attend her daughter's sporting events and loved to watch her nephew's hockey games. She was very devoted to her family. Loved her animals, especially her cats, "Pocket" and "Flick". Stacey will always be remembered for her smile and positive attitude. Stacey was a cancer survivor of Lypo Sarcoma. She was very proud of the birth of her beautiful daughter Megan on August 28, 1999. Mr. Margosian died unexpectedly Friday morning (December 19, 2008), at his home. At the time of his passing he was Chief Financial Officier at the St. Lawrence Seaway Development having been employed there for 50 years. Surviving Edward Margosian is his companion of 32 yrs Beverly Neal, a brother and sister-in-law Levan and Clare Morgosian of Massena, a sister, Cecile Margosian of West Chester, Pa two neices and a nephew: Diane Linskey of West Chester, Pa, Terry Margosian ,of Atlanta, Ga, Jill Ferrari of Baldwinsville, NY, great nieces and nephews: Benjamin Linskey, W. Chester,Pa, Taylor, Erik and Scott Ferrari all of Baldwinsville, Ny. Edward Margosian was born April 21, 1929 in Massena, NY, the son of Karekin and Arpina ( Eretzian) Margosian. A graduate of Massena High School and Clarkson College having enrolled in the ROTC program. He served in the US Army for two years and was Honorably Discharged. He briefly was employed at the NYS Unemployment Office and later worked in Syracuse for an accounting firm. He started at the St Lawrence Seaway Corporation in 1958 . |

Mrs. Ferreira died Saturday morning (December 20, 2008)at Massena Memorial Hospital in Massena, NY. where she had been a patient for one day, she had been in failing health for the past several years. Surviving Eleanor T. Ferreira is her husband of 54 yrs Robert W. two sons and a daughter: Charles and wife of Fremont, Ca; Robert and wife Emma of Melborne, Fl., Jana Perryman of Colfax, Wa., five grandchildren.A sister Pauline Smith died before. Born in Malone May 4, 1931 the daughter of Rufus and Mildred ( Boyea) Langlois, a graduate of Massena High School. Married Robert W. Ferriera August 9, 1952 at the Church of the Sacred Heart. Mrs. Ferriera at one time was a legal secretary for attorney Charles Chase in Massena, later she was cashier for Westcott's Big M in Massena and later a cashier at George Giroux's Grocery on Liberty Ave. She was a past member of the Massena Ladies Auxiliary Fire Volunteer Department. She was an avid reader. |

Born May 8, 1942 in Massena the son of Edward and Madeline ( Marcellus) Laraby. Graduate of Clarence Central High School, Buffalo. Married Anne McAllister. Served in the US Army during the Viet Nam Era. At one time he worked construction. Started employment at New York State Power Authority in 1967 retiring as Senior Operator in 1995. A member of the I.B.E.W. He was a member of the Waddington American Legion Post # 420. He enjoyed making jewelry as a hobby. |

A Eugene DiTullio of Massena, N.Y. Fourteen grandchildren and two great-grandchild. Numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Pauline DiCaprio. Jim was born May 31, 1926 in Norwood, NY, the son of the late Salvatore and Rena (Recore) DiTullio. He served in the US Marine Corps during World War II. He married Eileen LaPree on April 21, 1951 at the Church of the Sacred Heart in Massena with the Rev. Joseph Doud presiding. He was employed at GM Powertrain as an Inspector, retiring in 1987. He was a member of Marine Corps League, AMVETS Post # 4,American Legion Post #79V.F.W. Post # 1143Knights of Columbus 3rd Degree Council #1141, Massena Vol. Fireman exempt for 36 and half years. He served as an usher at the Church of the Sacred Heart for many years. |

Funeral services for Gordon "Gordie"
L. Runions, 76, 6 Plum Street, Massena, NY, will be held
Monday, December 29, 2008 at 10:00 am at Phillips Memorial
Home in Massena. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery II in
Norfolk.
Friends are being received Sunday, December 28, 2008 from 7-9 pm at the Phillips Memorial Home in Massena. Gordie went to be with his Lord and family Tuesday, December 23, 2008, at Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital in Plattsburgh, NY. He is survived by his loving companion Anita Branchaud and his children, Mark and wife Rita Runions of Massena, Valerie Harris and companion Eric Wehr of Massena, Ann and husband Bruce Barrett of Massena, Colleen and husband Steve Oshier of Massena and Christopher Runions of Massena. He had ten loving grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He has two sisters, Dorothy Greene of Rochester, NY and Arlene Mahoney of Canton, NY and two brothers, Ernest Runions of Chase Mills, NY and Bernard "Joe"Runions of Waddington, NY. He also had many nieces and nephews. Gordie was predeceased by two brothers Don Runions and George "Bunny" Runions and two sisters Nolia Marcellus and Marge Stiles. Gordie was born on May 12,1932 in Louisville, NY the son of the late George and the late Eva (Dyer) Runions. He married Barbara Garceau on May 13,1956 at the Methodist Church in Massena, the marriage ended in divorce. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a self-employed painting contractor. Gordie enjoyed puzzles, fishing, hunting, gardening, NASCAR and stock car racing. He also enjoyed going to the casino, playing the harmonica and listening to music. Gordie's family will miss him deeply. |
