It is so strange. I was just thinking about my old high school teacher Mr. McCormick last week. I can still see his smiling face and the twinkle in his eye. what a great teacher he was. that was in 1957.Some teachers you never forget and he was one of them. Very sorry about your loss.

I am so very sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. McCormick. He was one of the teachers that had a profound impact on my life. I am a teacher and lover of history today because of him. I have been teaching French since 1986 and although I only minored in History, I include it in my teaching of culture and word origins on a daily basis. I have often been asked why I don't teach History. I loved his teaching style and his calm manner. He lead us to ponder and problem solve by his questions. I am sad today because a great teacher has left us, I hope that I can honor his memory by being a better teacher tomorrow!! Susan LaVenture Austin Parkersburg, WV

Many years ago, I had Mr. McCormick as my teacher in Massena High School. I graduated in 1956. I read with regret the passing of such a great teacher. As my Mom was born in England and lived in Cornwall before her marriage to my Dad, James McCleave, I had a great interest in the Canadian history that Mr. McCormick taught. Our prayers go out to all of his family and the loss of such a great teacher and caring man.

I am so saddened to hear about Mr. McCormick. He was my history teacher,in 1961, and a family acquaintance of my mother Martha Sill Wolstenholme. She always referred to Dan's mother as Aunt Lila. I always felt he kept an eye on me, guiding me and my classmates he knew best. I last saw him at a high school reunion; shared a warm embrace, with both of us so happy to see each other. Thank you for sharing him with us.
