CommentDearest Nancy, Matt and Scott,
Please know that my heart goes out to all of you at this very sad time. Ed, since I have known him, symbolized strong family values, great work ethic and a playful side that was a pleasure to see. His sense of humor and quick wit always kept everyone on their toes. It is his deep love of life (and all of you) that will motivate me to live my life to its fullest. I wish you all the strength, prayers and love in the world as you get through each day without him. My heartfelt sympathies...

CommentEddie was always the kindest, nicest man. I enjoyed the time with him at work but some of my favorite memories of him were on the St. Lawrence River. He took the boys for a ride on his SeaDoo when they were 5 and 7 and from then on, our boat just didn't "cut it."
I've said many prayers for Ed during his illness; and now I'll say prayers for your family. I'm sure Ed is smiling down on you from Heaven.

CommentEd and i were Massena High classmates 40 years ago. He was a very dear friend. Although i haven't kept in contact, he has often been in my thoughts and prayers, as i knew he was sick, but i didn't know how bad. i don't know if you remember me Nancy, but be assured of my continuing prayers for you and all of Eddie's great family. May each of you come to the peace that passes all understanding and know you have your very own Saint in Heaven now. Cling to the Cross in your hour of agony and keep God's word close always.

and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge him, and
he will make your paths straight."(Prov 3:5-6)

CommentDear Nancy and family:
Please accept my sympathy for the loss of Eddie.
Eddie and I were friends growing up in the Lincoln School area, along with all the gang from Howard St. and Parker Ave. I will always remember him on the basketball court playing his heart out on Jerry Welsh's famous winning teams.
Eddie was, most of all, a First Class Human Being and a Gentlemen.
My husband, John, was the Pro at Massena CC for many years and he too thought the world of Eddie.
When we learned that Eddie was ill, we would often talk about what a great guy he was and we felt so bad that he was having a hard time.
I hope you will understand, that after just having lost John, I am just not up to going back to the funeral home yet. It is a hard road ahead but your family and friends will pull you thrugh when you need it, as will your faith.
I console myself by being grateful that God let me have my husband for as long as he did and give thanks for life we shared. It helps me.
Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers at what I know, is a very difficult time.
Sincerely,
Cathy

CommentI am not able to get to Massena due to the weather conditions. This leaves me very sad because Ed was a wonderful, warm, honest man who I very much enjoyed working with at NYPA. Besides our great working relationship, we developed a strong friendship which was cemented by our collective love for golf and had occasion to play together a number of times. He had a great work ethic which enamored him to his fellow workers and his outgoing unassuming personality easily drew people to him. He will be missed by the many people he met and interacted with over the years. I for one will always remember his smile and helping hand which he extended without fail to anyone who he belived he could help. God bless and keep Eddie Hubert...a great, great guy !!!
